The Science of Slaughter
Gael Garcia Bernal is good at three things: acting, making me irrationally horny, and slaughtering chickens – sometimes simultaneously. Director Alejandro Gonzalez recalls Bernal’s talent for mercy-killing the delicious little peckers on the set of Babel:
We were rehearsing the way Gael would kill the chicken in the wedding scene – (and) actually he killed seven! We were just rehearsing how he could do it without harming the chicken, before changing it for a dummy. We Mexicans are not so dangerous. We kill chickens, but the same way KFC does. I don’t know how they kill them, but they kill thousands and millions.
When asked to comment, a fourteen-year-old me spontaneously combusted at the thought of all the potential chicken-choking jokes.
