The Continuing Adventures of the Right Wing’s Huge-Ass Closet*

to AmericaBlog, a Denver television station is reporting that a male prostitute is claiming to have had a three-year relationship with Ted Haggard. Who’s Ted Haggard? He’s the head of The National Association of Evangelicals and a pastor with regular and direct access to President Bush:
Mike Jones told ‘9 Wants to Know’ Investigative Reporter Paula Woodward he has had a “sexual business” relationship with Pastor Ted Haggard for the past three years.
Haggard is the founder and senior leader of the New Life Church in Colorado Springs. The church has 14,000 members. He is also president of the National Association of Evangelicals, an organization that represents millions of people.
Jones also claims Haggard used methamphetamine in his presence on several occasions.
But here’s the thing that removes all credibility from this story: Ted Haggard is totally against gayness! He opposes gay marriage, and he’s tried to convert gay people to straightism:
Pastor Ted soon began upsetting the devil’s plans. He staked out gay bars, inviting men to come to his church; his whole congregation pitched itself into invisible battles with demonic forces, sometimes in front of public buildings.
Why on earth would a gay person do anti-gay things?! It. Just. Doesn’t. Add. Up.
*Or is it their huge ass-closet?
